The Art of Healing

As creatives, we use our mediums to create for others and heal ourselves, at least that's the case for me. I got to speak to Mikey before and after his session about why he chose yoga as his medium for exercise and the thing he wanted to highlight the most was the shape of the human body and its capabilities.

He was drawn to yoga because it is a good way to get your body moving and to express yourself through movement. He had always been drawn to dance and music, but being prone to knee injuries, he had to find a way to build strength and flexibility in a safe way.

"Yoga has shown me that through breath, presence, and patience (all of which I struggle with), I can overcome any struggles: physical, mental, spiritual, social--presented to me and come out stronger than before." - Michael Trimboli

Finding this moving meditation has not only centered and balanced him but has inspired him to come out of his comfort zone, which led him to inspire others to do the same. Mikey's goal is to spread love and kindness through yoga and to teach others that they are unique and perfect, welcoming them for who they are and to have fun doing just that.

Inspiration

Hot Yoga Revolution is where Mikey got his start, they're an inspiring group of people who accepted and embraced his practice and teachings. They showed him and surrounded him with more love than he could have ever imagined from the beginning of his yoga journey.

Is that something we all wish for? A group of people that we can lower our guard around and that make us feel valued as we grow. May we all find communities that enrich us and encourage us to be our greatest selves.
